Tales for the End of Summer
This September is a another chance to hear stories "from the floor" - with a loose theme of harvest time and summer adventures.
If there's a story you've been itching to tell, bring it along to entertain us - or just come along and listen to these strange and delightful tales.
Plus, resident storyteller Andrew Macpherson has an eerie story about reaping what you sow...
Tales of Near and Yonder
Andrew Macpherson is fascinated with the legends and lore of places - the fantastic explanations of how they came to exist, where the place names come from, and the curious things that happened there.
In Tales of Near and Yonder you'll get to hear some of these marvellous stories - legends of standing stones, faerie caves, ancient origins and a truly amazing miracle in medieval York!
Plus there'll be time to hear "stories from the floor" so if there's a tale you fancy telling, why not bring it along?
Orpheus and Eurydice
Orpheus ventures into the dark and dreamy underworld to find his true love. Told through poems puppets, shadows and silhouettes, the storytelling blends images of old and new in this tragic enchanting tale.
Catch the shadow if you can!
There will also be time to hear stories 'from-the-floor', so why not bring one along to amaze us?
Humphrey Lloyd and Friends
This month we're proud to present Humphrey, Joanna and Nico. This Leeds-based trio bring a refreshing and amusing fusion of modern and traditional stories, with St. George and the Dragon. It's fast, funny and very entertaining.
As usual, there's an opportunity for Stories-from-the-Floor, so if there's a tale you've been dying to tell, bring it along!
